Land rover series 3 88 inch 1981

  

For sale is my Land Rover series 3 88 inch. I don't want to waste your time or my time so this is as accurate description of the vehicle as I can do. I have owned the Landeover for 4 years and I fancy a change. It is a short wheel base model with hard top with rare rear cat flap. It has done 73k original miles and this is supported by MOT certificates all the way back to the early 80s.

The Land Rover comes with a detailed history folder including old receipts, mot certificates, service history book, original brochure and owners manual. The Land Rover is not concours or restored and is very original but it is 35 years old so has some oil leaks as they all do. The engine runs smoothly and consistently, starts every time and it has been serviced and maintained by a local Classic Landrover enthusiast garage. The mechanic says it has the best brakes he has seen on a series.

The exterior has been hand painted at some point but to a decent standard and looks tidy. It has new old stock door tops so they are rust free. The dash is complete and has no damage which is very rare on an old Land Rover. The roof does have some foam stuck on it and glue and the Land Rover will come with another roof which is excellent condition but I never got round to replacing it. All four tyres are nearly new with only a few hundred miles on them.

The rear cat flap does not have the stays to keep it up and the tear tailgate is a bit untidy and missing the chains. It has just been MOT and has a 12 month ticket. There is some filler in the rear offside panel which needs a run down and touch up.

The Land Rover drives smoothly and performs well, it is petrol and will put a smile on your face every time you drive it. It has character and although not perfect will make a good starter classic for someone. The chassis has had some welding in the past as most this age have but nothing major.
