1971 Series 3 Land Rover. MOT until Oct 2018 - No advisories. Previous owner was a young mechanic who put in a lot of work to get vehicle through it's 2016 MOT with no advisories.

He also installed a 200tdi engine and had car up on a ramp to strip and reseal chassis. I bought the vehicle in early 2017 as a project to work on through the summer and to use for the 2017/18 shooting season. Vehicle collected from about 40 minutes south of London and driven back to Leeds. Vehicle runs very well, cruising comfortably on the motorway at 65mph and capable of going faster (if you can bear the noise). Starts first time and has been a reliable runner.

As to be expected with a land rover there have been a couple of oil drips! But these now seem to have stopped, following the servicing work detailed below. Looks fantastic in my opinion but this is a roller and brush job done on a shoot vehicle - do not expect concourse finish. Three seats in front, bench seat in rear.

Has been fantastic fun to own - amazing how many people give you a wave on the motorway or slow to let you out at junctions. Work completed during my ownership detailed below. All work done by Jake Wright Landrover Sepcialist, Burley in Wharfedale. New brake shoes and seals. Front right washer jet needs replacing - I haven't bothered as pipe still gets water on to the window. 4 Wheel Drive low gear lever doesn't engage exactly as it should but does easily engage - I haven't repaired as there is an easy work around. Yellow lever up, red lever forward = 2wd high gear. Yellow lever down, red lever forward = 4wd high gear. Pulling red lever back should engage 4wd low gear automatically but to do so in this LR you have to hold down yellow lever simultaneously - I think a pin might need greasing in the mechanism but it's not worth the effort in my opinion.

I have all paperwork for work I've had done and partial paperwork from previous owners. MOT and V5C certificate present. I live in Leeds City Centre - Contact me to arrange viewing.

It's been my dream to own a Land Rover since I was little and this hasn't disappointed. A real pleasure to drive and great fun compared to modern motoring. Everything appears scenic when viewed through the splitscreen! I'll be sad to see it go but running two cars in the city centre just isn't practical and it would be unlikely to get much use again until the 2018/19 shoot season as I have a company car as a daily drive.

This was a project to help me fill my weekends following a break-up, which it did, so it's now time to pass it on to someone else to enjoy. 0 7 7 3 3 0 0 3 1 8 4.
