Land Rover Series 3 Galvanised Chassis

  

Very nice early Series 3 Petrol with character and patina!!! MOT until end of March 2017. Lots of work and new parts have gone into this vehicle. It has a new galvanised chassis, not the rotten old one repaired and then dipped!!

New door tops, excellent wheels and tyres, parabolic springs, all new bushes, free wheeling hubs, new fuel tank, new exhaust, brakes have been overhauled with new cylinders and pads etc, so it actually stops when you press the foot brake!! Clean interior with sony MP3 player as its petrol you can actually hear it.

Ifor Williams back, air horns and a capstan winch everything works as it should, it sailed through its last MOT without a problem. I have all the necessary docs and paperwork in my name. The engine is sweet and runs beautifully, I have owned diesel series 3's and the petrol engine is definitely an improvement, smooth with plenty of power a pleasure compared to the diesels.

The gearbox is tight and does not jump out of gear, the transfer box, Hi Lo ratio work as they should. The clutch bites at the bottom of the peddle and does not slip or judder. The ignition switch on the steering column does not work anymore.

The ignition is now on a push button switch and an on/off missile type switch. The steering column lock still works with the original ignition key, removing the key leaves the column locked and secure as normal. The heater is non existant and needs looking at. I have probably missed some critical details from the listing so feel free to ask questions.

I have acquired a left shoulder injury which makes gear changing and steering/parking painful, so the luxury of power steering and a lighter duty more modern gearbox are beckoning. Please remember this is a working vehicle and has transported sheep, dogs, feed and young children any random bits of lego are included in the sale!! It is definitely not a shiny new Defender 90.
