Land Rover Series 3 Lightweight 1984

  

Ive decided its time to sell my much loved Land Rover, Series 3, Lightweight FFR, Air Portable. Original 2.286 petrol engine. It remains very much original and unmolested. It still runs on the 24v system as it was fitted for radio when in military service. Ive owned the Land Rover for 3 years and hardly put any miles on the clock (currently 41340).

Its only been used on occasional weekends and Ive never used it off road. It has never let me down and always starts on the key.

Ive spent a lot of time putting the original shielded leads, shielded spark plugs and distributer back on military spec. It has had a new mechanical fuel pump, new gasket for manifold/exhaust and a replacement carb. All door locks unlock/lock with key. It has had a new back chassis section and welding to the front as some point in previous ownership which was done to a very high standard. Bulkheads are solid, breaks, electricals and lights all working.

Original radio boxes and aerials on the front, gun mounts still fitted and fire extinguisher present. This Land Rover does not pull to the verge when driving. As it has been kept in its original condition, it has not been changed to unleaded fuel. With every tank, additive has been used.

No freewheel hubs or overdrive etc. The Exmoor trim hood is in good condition with no rips or tears. It has slightly faded in the sun, however this now matches the colour of the paintwork - making its overall appearance much more striking.

The under chassis has not been blacked as to show its originality. Full 12 months MOT will be added.
