Land Rover series 3 safari 6 cylinder (1980)

  

Series 3 Land Rover 12 seater safari with the 2.6 6 cylinder engine in good condition with nearly a years MOT. This is a particularly rare model of Land Rover and is a genuine safari in largely original condition. The chassis and bulkhead are in good condition as are the footwell panels. Some quality welding repairs have been carried out on the chassis outriggers- done to a very good standard so no issues with its structure. Engine:- crank re-ground and new big end bearings shells fitted, new oil seal kit and new thrust washers fitted.

New electronic distributor , plugs, leads, coil etc. New alternator and oil pressure switch. All low and high range work well along with the 4WD and FWH.

Other new parts include 4 brand new tyres which have to date only covered 500 miles. New petrol tank, sender unit, fuel filler hose, ignition starter switch, hazard warning light kit , starting handle, choke cable, wing mirrors, rear shock bushes, front cubby box, exhaust tail pipe and so much more. Prior to 2013 the Land Rover had a new brake master cylinder, clutch master cylinder fitted along with a new radiator and heater valve. This is a very well and up together Land Rover that is ready to be driven and used. I have done about 300 miles so far of which some have been motorway miles. I'd be happy to drive the vehicle anywhere in England! Excellent brakes, gearbox no clutch.

All lights inside and out work well. All gauges work well and read correctly. Typical Land Rover noise to be expected- tappers chatter between20-40 mph only when accelerating under load. Choke warning light doesn't work.

Interior is original and has wear to be expected but best left as is due to its original look. The Smiths heater works well and blows hot air which is quite rare for one of these. The vehicle has been repainted in bronze green and presents well but has been hand painted- looks pretty good as it is and wouldn't change it unless I was going for a full restoration. There are no oil or cooland leaks on this particular Land Rover.
