This was agreed as the V5 document is still stuck at the DVLA and will not be available for another 3 weeks. Wonderful Series 3 109 Safari. A mechanically sound example, new MOT in July proves that. Fitted with a 200tdi unit, so will easily keep up with modern traffic and will actually go faster if you are brave enough. Features, H4 headlight conversion, so you can see in the dark.
Original cloth trim, good headlining apart from two little tears. All body panels, roof and rear door, are very good, the passenger doors and all window channels need attention, 2 brand new front doors are supplied. Chassis is good having had a new outrigger fitted for the MOT, the bulkhead is sound in the right places, but will need a top repair panel around the vents. The only advisory was the rear Cross member, but passed as there is no tow bar, A brand new rear cross member is also supplied. Has a cubby box with Sony stereo.
All round a fantastic opportunity for a rolling restoration that will make a great investment. Viewing and test drives are welcome, ask any questions and I'll do my very best to answer them.
Collection would be from CB24 8AJ. Just to answer a few common questions Yes there is pale blue paint. The original colour was County Brown, and on her return to the UK the supplying garage, Bass, obviously sprayed her back to the original brown to match the bits that hadn't been sprayed blue. Yes there is a big folder of bills and previous MOTs and other documents. Yes all the tyres are good and hold air.
No she doesn't seem to leak oil. New swivel joints fitted, new master and slave clutch cylinders, not brand new but brake master and slaves have been replaced. Brand new fuel tank and still has the old reserve tank under the driver seat. 3 full sets of keys. Further update, Mileage on speedo 52K (for what that's worth). He spent a long time under the Landy, tapping all parts of the chassis with a small hammer. The good news is he pronounced the chassis sound except for a very small 1/2p sized hole. Just needs a good clean and waxoil and should be good for a few more years. That's the good news, now the irritating bit.The previous owner didn't send in his V5c, and nothing can be done for 4 weeks in this case. I have since filled in the V62 and sent off relevant docs to DVLA to get V5c in my name this takes 6 weeks.
However the docs came back to me as I hadn't completed the form. The item "Land rover series 3 Safari station wagon" is in sale since Sunday, September 23, 2018.
