Land Rover Series 3 SWB 88 1975 200Tdi. Ive owned this for 3/4 weeks and loved every minute of it! But unfortunately im having to sell due to r lass being pregnant.
Gonna need a family car. All fluids have been changed (oils, coolant etc) in the time Ive had her and I have just toped up hubs, axles and gearbox/transfer-box. Full set of top-quality parabolic springs fitted gives a +1 lift and rides really well. 1 Ton Extended Spring Shackles increases lift to about +1.75. Both axles refurbished with free wheeling hubs on the front.
Galvanised rock sliders fitted (from the renowned Mill Services). Free-wheel hubs on the front.
Chassis welded where required this is the original chassis so it does have a fair few patches but is sound and road legal. Bulkhead is sound vent flaps have been fitted with later rubber seals to make them watertight. Panels repaired gives her a rat-rover look. Ive not painted the panels as the patina is amazing. New driver & passenger doors with later defender door seals all round.Replaced rear door (Later version with heating and wiper arm). All steering arm ball links replaced. New fuel cap and lock/padlock. I have 4 new wheels that come with the vehicle and could be stripped and painted. Fully rewired to get indicators, brakes and lights working.
Fully bypassed with a kill switch to isolate battery best anti-theft you can fit. Separate fuse box fitted for extras. LED Work lights fitted at rear with a switch in cabin pod and by the rear door. LED interior light fitted with a switch in cabin pod and by the rear door. 2 x Power outlets in the rear. Defender rear door wired with a timer for heated screen and wiper arm. Disco 200Tdi fitted by the previous owner. This has been refitted by me and enhanced as shown here. Starts every time without fail. Timing belt replaced as I had no idea how old it was.
PAS pump removed and New Alternator fitted refitted on a single belt with alternator re-mounted on a series bracket. Viscous fan removed replaced with an electric fan on thermostatic control + override in the cab. Later 300Tdi air filter housing fitted.Rewired with oil pressure, oil temperature and coolant temperature sensors for cab pod. New washer set up with new pips and pump. New radiator and header tank fitted. Bonnet (razor edge SII version) lined with sound deadening and heat reflecting material.
Raptor bespoke pod designed, built and fitted by me. 12v Charging state (plus switch to check battery state when ignition is off). Switches: Interior lights, Work lights, Heated rear screen (timed with LED), Rear wipe, Fan override (with light to show state). 12v Outlet and USB outlet. Fan replaced with a new bilge style air driver. Top spec Bluetooth SONY CD stereo with speakers in rear light covers. Rear inward facing seats (both new) fitted on thick rubber to deaden sound. Rear tub chequer plate bottom and sides. Come with 4 rims, and abit of paint.Things that still need doing. If I was keeping her the next task is to refurb the front hubs they are fine mechanically but are a bit weepy.
Id also renew the outlet seal on the gearbox for the same reason. There is an intermitted starting fault I need to check the glow-plug relay and starter relay. Rear side windows could do with new seal Ive done these before and once you get the knack they are fairly easy to renew.Good luck I hope she finds a new home!
