Land Rover Series 3 SWB 88 5 Seater Tax-MOT Exempt
1974 Land Rover 88 for sale. 2.25 petrol, SWB, 5 seater all with 3-point belts. Reliable, well maintained SWB landy ready to continue his service with another family. We have had great fun in this but it is not really getting out that much nowadays and it is a shame to leave it sat on the drive they prefer to be driven. 2.25l petrol that starts and runs fine. Bodywork is in good shape for a well-used Land Rover. Still polishes up well though.
Both the front doors are new (tops and bottom) but I ran out of paint before I could paint the inside of the door bottoms. I did make a repair to the passenger foot well but the rest of the bulkhead is in great condition.
The rear crossmember had been replaced before I got it and I replaced the front ¼ chassis last year. It has Rocky Mountain Parabolic springs front and rear. The front seats are perfectly functional but the passenger seat back could do with recovering if you are that way inclined never really bothered me. In the rear I have fitted Exmoor trim fold-up forward facing seats and 3-point seat belts.
Seat mountings and seat belts are all suitable reinforced and rather than fixing the seat-belt receivers to the floor they are connected through the floor to the rear crossmember so very secure. I fitted these so I could take the kids out in it (not legal in side facing seats anymore) so they were fitted to be safe. There is also a third 3-point belt in the middle at the front so you have 5 forward facing seats all with 3-point belts.
