Land Rover Series 3, SWB, 88, Petrol, Tax Exempt

  
Requires complete restoration or just repair as needed, not been road taxed since 1991, engine starts and runs with no knocks or rattles but does puff a bit of smoke, this is most likely due to not having been run for some time, currently running from an independent fuel can as condition of the fuel tank is unknown, gearbox selects all gears and hi / low all appear to work as they should, does require a pair of hub flanges for the front axle. Condition of drive train is unknown as not road tested but has been driven around my driveway. Chassis is not to bad, both dumb irons will need replacing and some patches to the rear cross member, the whole chassis needs a good wire brush and repaint as there is a lot of surface rust and flaking paint, this may uncover other areas that will need repairing. Bulkhead will need footwells and repairs to the posts, drivers door is fairly good but will needs small repairs, door top has been replaced at some stage and is good , passenger door and top are very rusty, electrics are untested , brakes don't work so will need to be overhauled, hand brake is useable for manuaving. This Land rover is a civilian model that someone has put an incredibly amount of effort into making a military replica, it has military front wings, bonnet, early glass screw light lens , lighting switch, tail gate and properly more that I haven't listed, in the back is a military FFR radio table and battery store that looks to been in pretty good condition, it has not rusted out as they quite often do, it is not fitted or wired up it is just for show. There is a canvas with the Land rover, its in poor condition but just about useable. Vehicle is located in Surrey KT10.
