It has its original hard top (sorry no canvas or roof sticks are included) its original chassis, running gear, bulkhead and engine. It has never been over restored, just maintained to keep it on the road. As you can see in the pictures the paint has faded somewhat, but there is no rot in the chassis or body there is only a few patches in the bulkhead that will need sorting. The vehicle was enhanced in the past by the fitting of a smiths round heater, free wheeling hubs and the addition of a fairey overdrive. I have completed the following works.
New shock absorbers to the rear. New flexible brake pipes front and back. New rear axle retention straps. New brake shoes (where needed). It comes with a new starter button still in the pack.
Some holes in foot well bulkhead. It has wandering steering (as do all other series ones). The hand brake lever has cracked (will need rewelding) so its fiddly to put on handbrake (it comes off fine). One of the rear windows in the hardtop is missing (rubber is still present) was smashed by a yob whilst parked outside my parents!
On long descents the brakes fade (As I think I havent bled them properly since replacing the cylinders) ok on short runs though. Gearbox whines in fourth well lets be honest it whines in any gear nothing grinding though and no problem selecting/ changing gears. Sometimes you have to hit the starter twice, its a switch issue hence new switch included. It has the overdrive and the expensive bits have been done (see prices above). The engine body and chassis are the originals. It has only a few owners from new i.
Its not been passed around like a hot potato! It has the original buff log book. Its never been trialled / off roaded extensively. It still has the original horn and dipper switch detail.
It doesnt actually drop a great deal of fluids on the floor. It has the rare hard top. It was made in Solihull! I wouldnt use this as a daily driver until I had a look at the brake issue (it doesnt leak I replaced all the pipes it just needs bleeding/ adjusting) and welded up the hand brake handle. Also on a cold day not having the glass in the hardtop passenger side it can get a bit nippy. Id say its a fantastic rolling restoration that you can only but add value to. Id ask if you would have the same courtesy back therefore no daft offers or tyre kickers it is what it is a 60 years plus, working vehicle.
