Will make a decision next week w/c 21st Sept. Which Ebayer or L/R Magazine offer is best (not necessarily the highest). I will be away over the weekend I also like steam railways!
Whatsapp viewing if required Monday onwards. One just below and one interested party taking further info for consideration. I can do Whatsapp video calling!
So you can view and hear in detail all you wish to know about the vehicle. To answer your questions:- It shows as a diesel on the pre-conversion MOT.
It shows as a FFR on the car vin plate so maybe was 24v. It came to me as an N reg 1974. Army fleet data (I have the certificate) has it as 1972 so DVLA changed the reg to K. (It was used in Navy / marines with the colour blue).
Thanks to all Lanny fans for their messages. Sorry to those who want parts individually.
All will be included including the GKN overdrive (incomplete). See my other items to see how I listed it as options. Completed part restoration part modernisation project to preserve this classic Land Rover but to make it a good daily use vehicle. Everything works as it should do.
I have too many 4wds (5) so this one has to go. This setup is like a mid-eighties v8 efi 4 speed auto lt230 permanent 4wd Classic Range Rover. GKN overdrive is included if required.
Will require chassis mod for clearance. The power steering system is as was fitted to Northern Ireland heavily armoured vehicles in the 70s. Lucas period correct driving, spot, reverse and fog lamps. All other lamps changed to leds. Swing away spare tyre carrier (works with hard and rag top set ups).
Interior cabin lights added including fluorescent in the back. Sony face off stereo with 10 speakers (includes bass and tweeters). (Desert car seat base structures spares included for the purists). Three front seat inertia seat belts. New heater valve and controls just fitted. Daily set on pepper pot wide deep dished wheels. Off road rugged set of wheels. All tyres good apart from osf road tyre cracked. Mot not required but I get one each year (one in place currently). Originally military use both army and navy (1972). Chassis has some small patches to improve strength at the engine conversion time. Waxoyled (and renewed each year). Car finished in matt army green and black. All rust attended to and cured. Chassis stabilised for life (so no welding has been required in the last 15 years). Hardtop set up includes side windows and glass sunroof centrally positioned. Rag top set up kit includes windscreen, door tops, hoops (spare ones too) and split tailgate. Green vinyl tilt and an unused black one too. The vehicle is ready to use on or off road without any attention.Future thoughts would have been:_. The webasto electric sunroof was a fail. The cut out is included if a return to original is required or used as a removable lid. Also included is a centre diff lock / low ratio levers trim etc. As the current set up does not allow for access to this.
(Add limited slip diffs for an awesome capability). Adaption to fill fuel from the side of the vehicle rather than under the seat (tank adaption included). Replace the exhaust downpipes (two spare sets included). The doors are not in good condition so a replacement set from the desert car is included.
Very restorable door bottoms and tops, good glass with hinges and handles. These for the hard top set up and the current ones minus window tops for the rag set up. Maybe strip the body paint (rough due to repeated rattle can preservation) and reinstate the original gloss blue finish.
Finally might have fitted the GKN overdrive (parts required for it). Body parts from a desert based vehicle are included if required (bulkhead already used). Plus ex WD fuel can. Spare rear bumpers and odd body parts as pictured.
