Series 1 Land Rover 80 inch

  

Land Rover Series 1 1951 80 inch. Usable 80 that drives remarkably well , starts , stops and drives nice and straight. I'm not a Land Rover expert but here are some details you will need.

Chassis number 16101286 , can be seen stamped on front engine mount on chassis leg , making it a 1951 1600cc. It's currently fitted with a 2.25 petrol but I also have the correct 1600cc engine with engine no 161 so can be rebuilt and fitted (available by separate negotiation and currently stored else where). The Land Rover is very solid , bulkhead good , had bulk head lights removed and plates put over holes , chassis is good , I had new passenger out rigger fitted , foot wells repaired , I had a new brake master cylinder fitted and galvanised battery base. It's starts and runs well , I have the log book in my name although it has the wrong engine size and manufacture year. The body work has nice patina been painted bright green which with lots of scraps and bumps which I like , so wasn't going to bother with a re paint. There has been a vent put into top rail as per pic , I think over the years owners have given it a face lift removing bulk head lights , changing grill , and putting vent in.

I'm not desperate to sell but will consider sensible offers (bear in mind the engine when rebuilt is worth over 5k) I have a reserve on the Land Rover and won't look at silly offers , this car can be driven away , although I only go on short trips as it is 65 years old so don't expect a concourse 40k rebuild , this Land Rover hasn't been rebuilt but is road worthy , it needs lots of bits and pieces doing as you can see from the pics. Not sure if hood fits! Land Rover located in Durham.
