SERIES III LAND ROVER LIGHT WEIGHT LTWT RHD ex RAF fairly rare

  

I have owned this vehicle for around 15 years, it was bought for interest only and only did about 250 miles in that time. I have stored it in an enclosed building. Manufactured in 1978, it was used by the RAF and still has its military record plate. The chassis number matches the plates in the vehicle and is original. It was released from the military in 1992 to Kinross motor auctions, Bridgend.

It is wearing its original canvas cover it has only covered 38,680 km or 24,175 miles according to its speedometer, I cannot verify if this is genuine or not, but it looks reasonable considering the condition of the vehicle. It has had two front springs replaced with new, and a new rear propshaft in my ownership. It has also been fitted with all new brake shoes, new brake springs, all wheel cylinders rebuilt, brake master cylinder rebuilt with new seals, clutch master and slave rebuilt with new seals, all wheels stripped and re painted and fitted with 4 brand new tyres, steering box rebuilt, new steering ball joints fitted where required, recently replaced 3 front seats, rear seat frames repainted, fitted with original cushions and fold up, 2 spare wheels, new screen glass on near side, new wiper blades, all lights work with correct military headlights. The body and chassis are excellent as can be seen from the pictures, the chassis has been re waxoiled to soften and protect the original military underseal applied from new and to further protect against corrosion.

Bad points, the temperature gauges (oil and water) do not work although i have a replacement to be fitted for one of them, although she doesn't overheat.
