Superb land rover series 1 80-inch 1952 2 litre

  
For sale is our fabulous 1952 land rover 80-inch 2 litre. This car was restored five years ago by master restorer ken wheelwright and has done only a few hundred miles since.

See Williams Classics website in north wales. This car had what can only be described as a nut and bolt rebuild to astounding standards. It retains its original chassis, engine, gear. Box, axles, tub and windscreen and cappings - ony the bulkhead, doors and front wings were replaced with new old-stock parts from kens secret store.

After some time in a museum the car has recently been recommissioned at Dunsfold and has a fresh mot so is ready to roll. The eagle-eyed amongst you will also see it has discreet indicators and a series 2 stalk - these can be removed easily but as they are are they are period and do the job. After the pics were taken i put the correct round mirrors on - somebody had''borrowed'' the originals and forget to bring them back!!!!!!!

The engine is very very torquey - even for one of these. And the car bowls along at a great pace - it really is a hoot to drive and easily keeps up with modern traffic.

The list of work done is way too long to detail here - but the car comes with the usual hand-written list from ken of everything that was new and what was deemed good enough to refurbish. This is the last car ken painted in cellulose paint and it has a wonderful depth to it that modern paints cannot come close to. The first owner had the car until 2007 when ken bought it - we have the logbook still in kens name - something in itself.
